Puppy Socialization is on every new pet parents mind when they bring home a new furry family member – or should be! Zazie Todd’s article excerpted here is a good reminder of why we work hard to give our puppies the best start in life!

Dog parkour, or as it’s sometimes called urban agility for dogs, is a fairly new canine sport. It blends elements of human parkour (moving rapidly through an area, typically in an urban environment, running on, jumping over and climbing obstacles) with dog agility as well as dog flyball skills, dog tricks, canine obedience as well as stamina for the dog and handler. . Everything that Stella loves and to which she aspires (me too!).

Stella the Min Pin loves to work, and she loves to show off. So its not too hard to shape that enthusiasm into some terrific Tricks for her Advanced Trick Dog Title! Check out our video submission that “did the trick” for us.

We are privileged to introduce Husky puppy Ayra to the Furever Pet Care pack! She will be doing some pre-school training and foundation skills with us here on a regular basis.

The pandemic has had all kinds of effects on families and the dogs who live with them.

Some of the effects are terrific. Dogs received lots of attention from folks locked down with them. What puppy doesn’t love being the center of the universe?

Some of those effects are not so desirable. The change in family dynamic that come with a return to a more “normal” pattern has made for dogs who have a hard time being separated from their people even for brief durations; dogs that are overly reactive; dogs that are overly fearful; dogs unable to adapt to change. For these families, a board and train program may provide respite and a fresh perspective.

Stella and I achieved our Master Novice Trick Title with a repertoire of 33 moves. Trick titles are fun to work on, and so rewarding for you and your pup. We do ours with an organization called Do More With Your Dog and this is our video submission that earned the dog trick title. This little gal is moving on to Intermediate next, because she loves this stuff!

That old adage about old dogs and new tricks – pssshaawww! On the cusp of this eleventh birthday, McGee the Chi earned his official Trick Dog Title, Novice from Do More With Your Dog. Watch how he does it!

Pet Parents undertaking dog training during pandemics are particularly loyal to their dogs, and should be especially proud of their accomplishments! Congratulations to all!
